On August 31, another GovTech Campus Community Meetup took place in Berlin.

This regular series of events aims to connect the federal, state and local governments with the most innovative players in the tech scene, civil society, the open source community and applied research.

The aim is to promote Germany as a pioneer in the development and application of digital technologies and solutions for the public sector w.r.t. government technology.

As a member of the GovTech Campus dida had the privilege to participate in this event. Our team member Axel Besinger used the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts from industry and the public sector.

The highlight was the presentation by Bernd Schlömer, State Secretary for Digitalization at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, as well as the State Government's Commissioner for Information Technology (CIO), on the topic: "Platform capability - What does it mean for the German administration in the future?".

It was exciting to hear how agile Bernd Schlömer is in building up his own administration platform in Saxony, with the goal of integrating citizen-relevant product components (whether developed in-house or purchased) into this platform in order to bring Saxony, and thus Germany, one step closer to digitization.
